Andrew Rider (???? - circa 1749 at Cecil Co, MD) lived in Cecil Co prior to 1717 when he witnessed the will of Henry Sluyter. On 7 Jun 1722 he was deeded 125 acres of land for planting by Ephraim Augustine Hermann on Bohemia Manor. It is presumed that Andrew was indentured as a servant to Hermann. In 1740, during hostilities with France, he was a member of the Cecil County Militia, serving under Capt. Peter Bayard. It is believed that Andrew married Mary Noble, daughter of Adam Noble, although concrete proof is lacking. Andrew and Mary were members of St. Stephen's Parish. By the standards of the day, Andrew was a relatively wealthy planter, having an estate valued at over 330 Pounds Sterling.

Some evidence exists that Andrew Rider was, indeed, Andreas Rutter, son of Conrad Rutter who settled in Lancaster Co, PA. This connection is currently being researched.

Rebecca Rider (18 Nov 1724 at Bohemia Hundred, Cecil Co, MD) married James Boyles.
Peter Rider (3 Feb 1726 at Bohemia Hundred, Cecil Co, MD - 1773, same) married Elizabeth _____. Peter, like his father and brothers, appears to have been a substantial planter as his name appears quite often in the Cecil Co probate records of the 1750s, 60s, and early 70s as he provided sureties on many estates of his neighbors and kinfolk. The final accounts of Peter's estate show a value of over 600 Pounds Sterling in 1774, reduced to 70 Pounds by 1783.
Joseph Rider (4 Sep 1727 at Bohemia Hundred, Cecil Co, MD - circa 1794, same) possibly married Sarah Noble. Joseph became a somewhat prosperous planter, having several Negro slaves and a sizeable estate of nearly 400 Pounds Sterling which was divided between his two daughters.
Mary Rider, born at Bohemia Hundred, Cecil Co, MD, married William Jackson. After the death of her father, they migrated to Ohio Co, VA.
Elizabeth Rider (1758 at Bohemia Hundred, Cecil Co, MD - 15 Jun 1834 at Ohio Co, VA) married Peregrine Whitham (1750 at Cecil Co - 28 Dec 1799 at Ohio Co, VA), son of William Whitham and Mary _____. Elizabeth and Peregrine migrated to Ohio Co, VA after the death of her father. Elizabeth married 2nd at Ohio Co, VA, Henry Wilson (???? - Sep 1835 at Ohio Co).
Andrew Rider (16 Jul 1734 at Bohemia Hundred, Cecil Co, MD - circa 1801, same) married Rachel Whitham, daughter of William Whitham and Elizabeth Smith.
James Rider (24 Feb 1737 at Bohemia Hundred, Cecil Co, MD - 1818, same) did not marry and is presumed to have been the last of the Rider line to live in Cecil Co. In his will, dated 10 Jan 1818, he leaves all of his worldly possessions to his "friends", Daniel Wright and Sarah Smith.
