Directions to Camp Jewett from Bakersfield
(The drive takes about 2 hours from Bakersfield)

• The shortest route from Bakersfield follows Airport Drive to the north side of town. Past the airport, and on the other side of an intersection with a stop sign, the road turns into Granite Road, which is also the start of the Bakersfield-Glennville Road.
• Continue about 30 miles to Glennville and turn right (east) on Highway 155.
• Head east on Highway 155 about 23 miles to Greenhorn Summit, where you turn right (south) on Rancheria Road towards Shirley Meadows ski resort.
• Drive uphill on paved road, then across the parking lot of the ski resort. On the far side, head downhill on a winding dirt road. About 4½ miles from Highway 155, turn right at the well-marked Rhymes Campground onto Alder Creek Road, which is also a dirt road.
• About ½ mile from the campground, at the top of a short hill, go right at a junction and head down a steep hill on a narrow dirt road with lots of pot holes. At the the bottom of this hill, and about ½ mile from the previous junction, the road curves sharply to the left. A short distance past this curve, look for the metal gate to Camp Jewett on the right.
