Tabay is a typical andean town, where everything happens around Bolívar Square. In this case, it is also a strategic point, because you can find grocery stores, markets and bakeries for supply, a luncheonette and an hotel-restaurant for eating and resting, and also drugstores and a small hospital.

All buses going to Páramo de Mucuchíes (Mucuchíes Moor) and returning to Mérida city pass by this square, and from its northwest corner depart jeeps taking you to "Zona Recreativa de La Mucuy Alta" (Mucuy Alta Recreational Area).
