Aunque la tierra de los Barí es fértil, hay limitaciones en el número y tamaño de los sitios de siembra, y el suelo se agota rápido. Por ello, la dieta barí se complementa con la caza y la pesca.

El niño, que sostiene entre sus manos una yuca (mandioca), se llama Ducan y fue uno de los principales maestros de lengua Barí que tuvo José.

The harvest

Even though Barí land is fertile, there are limitations on number and size of sowing places, and soil gets exhausted quickly. Therefore, barí diet is complemented with hunting and fishing.

The child holds a "yuca" (cassava) and his name is Ducan. He was José's main teacher of Barí language.
