Seeking Turley (and Bushman) Information on the Web

On our web site at http://www.oocities.org/wallygray25/ I have placed some of my family information. Included in this is information on the Turley and Bushman lines.

The best way to access this is to go to the site above and click on either Turley or Bushman.

Once you get to the Turley site, you will find the two very fine articles by John Romney Pyper on In Memorium of “Turley Family Members Lying in Unmarked Graves” and “the Missing Clifts.”

You will also find extensive information in “Letters from Dr. Joseph Soll Turley.” Soll comes through the line of Theodore Turley and Ruth Jane Giles. There is a lot of fascinating information here!

Go to the Biographies area for information (and in some cases, photos) of several of the early Turleys.

There are many books on the Turley line indicated as well.

Because this is a family site I have entered information on how these lines are related to my wife’s family (she is of Turley ancestry.)

When you click on Theodore Turley at the top of the Turley Family site you will be led to Theodore’s family including all five marriages and children of each marriage. Other links are available as well. If you look carefully you will find the cemetery headstone of Theodore and Ruth Ann Giles!

All of this material (and more including unrelated Turleys) can be found. The same for the Bushman line.

In order to obtain pedigree charts for any of the lines, go to the familysearch site (http://www.familysearch.org), click on Search then Ancestral File. You may type in the name, birth year, country, etc., or using the file number space type in the Ancestral File Number. I have indicated the Ancestral File Numbers in many cases.

At the bottom of the Turley Family site are several links. One of the links leads you to the excellent "Biography and Autobiography of Theodore Turley" by our newsletter editor Ella Mae Turley Judd. This work is divided into sections for easy access.

My article on “The Value of Genealogical Stories” gives my view of the importance of collecting such information.

To find ordinance work done, consult your ward family history consultant for help. This information is found online.

The Bushman site lists many biographies as well.

A wealth of information is awaiting you. Perhaps you know of other sites as well. Please let us know. Also if you have comments, suggestions, corrections, etc., please contact me at grayfox2@cox.net

Happy searching, and let me know what you think!
