The Child Advocacy Program

My dream is to leave this world a little better place than it was when I arrived. I hope to accomplish this dream by starting a non-profit Child Abuse Prevention Program. I have been working on this idea all of my life. When I was a small child, I made the decision to accept the pain I was forced to endure. I had no one to turn to. I made a promise to the lord, and myself. I would survive! And, as an adult I would do everything in my power to make sure other little kids would not have to feel the same way. I would make sure that they had a place to turn.

As a parent, I have found the same anger and frustration. When I seek advice, I am always running into Huge manuals, which seem to be more confusing than helpful. I would also like to give parents somewhere to turn.

C.A.P.'s (The Child Advocacy Program) is an innovative and exciting project that focuses on Child Abuse Prevention thru Parental Education. I would like to include such topics as Early Childhood Development, Emotional and Physical needs, Safety, Manners, Coping with Divorce or Death, Discipline or behavior modification, Abuse, Family Counseling, Fantasy Play and Dreams(as a way of discussing children's inner fears and strengths). I would like the program to exist as a collection of fun children's books instead of in a boring text book, which is very confusing. In children's books these subjects can be discussed on a child's level. Also, the books would include a parental explanation section and a toll free # where parents or children could find even more help!

C.A.P.'s: I would also enjoy one day to see this program have enough support, to be heard By Congress. I feel there is a very strong need for more laws to be passed, which will safeguard our children. I cannot emphasize enough that Children are our future. What will it matter if the environment, technology, and other important adult issues are solved, if our children are not healthy, happy intelligent, and capable of continuing to survive in the world we have left them? What kind of legacy are we creating for the Future?

In conclusion, I feel a difference could be made, for the greater majority of children, if a law made it mandatory that all new parents who give birth to a child in the United States should have to participate in a parental education program such as the one mentioned above.

I would like to thank My Dad, My Mom, and sis, my little buddies, and good friends who have been very supportive. I would also like to thank God, for all of the help along the way =)

Pray it happens,
Wild Angel
