Well, I slept for about 6 hours, got up and realised that I had left my kettle,
tea etc. on the bus so I threw some clothes on and staggered down to get some
coffee so I could get my blood moving. I had an interview to do at 10:30
so I took the time to pack and have breakfast with Magne.
The interview was really interesting and
gradually everyone strolled down for our scheduled noon departure. This
was eventually changed so we could eat before we left town rather than risk the
food at a Hungarian or Slovenian truck stop!!
So, after a delicious lunch we said good bye
to our hosts Bogdan and Egor and climbed on the bus for what was supposed to be
a 4-5 hour ride through Hungary, into Slovakia and then the Czech Republic.
My geography here is not that good but somehow we passed through Austria and our
journey turned into a 7 hour marathon, by which time I was dreaming about a nice
soft pillow in a nice warm room. This was to be a long dream!! But
enough of that… I promised I wasn’t going to complain!
Suffice it to say that we arrived safely in
this tiny town, checked into the best hotel and fortunately found an open
chinese restaurant on the second floor. The food had no flavour but it hit
the spot.
The free
internet only worked in the lobby so it was time to chuck it all in and go to
sleep…. what a day/night!
