One Night in Finland.....
Thursday
Spain was warm and sunny when this trip
started which probably explains why the Air Traffic Control people were taking a
longer than usual siesta!! This meant that my flight to Stockholm, the
first leg of this long journey to Joensuu, Finland, was more than an hour late
leaving. It’s obviously no fun sitting in an already uncomfortable plane
seat under any circumstances but it’s a major pain when the plane is going
nowhere. Still, I figured I had time to make my connection in Stockholm so
I just opened one of my newspapers and tried to put it (the delay, not the
newspaper!) out of my head.
The flight was long (almost 4 hours) and
quite boring but it got a bit exciting when I realised that we would be so late
that I’d have to run to catch the connection to Helsinki. I don’t do
running!!
A whole bunch of silly EU regulations made
this even more complicated but I made it by the skin of my teeth and arrived in
Helsinki safe and sound.
The band was flying in from Gothenburg and we spent the night at the airport
Ramada so I had time for dinner and to get a bit of work done….
