trip to The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Bulgaria, August 2009"
Day 1
I am
starting to have nightmares about this airport!
Today was "Infant Olympics Day" in Alicante airport. Donīt get me wrong, I like
for kids to have fun but why do they risk life and limb playing "who can jump
farthest from the window ledge without breaking a bone and/or bleeding all over
the place, thereby involving innocent bystanders like me"?
I realise that, within a few short years, this will become a real Olympic sport
(have you ever actually watched synchronised swimming?) but why do they have to
practise on the days when I am flying?
And why canīt people walk in a straight line any more?
The flight to Madrid was short and I spent a little time relaxing in the Iberia
Air Lines lounge before boarding the Czech airlines Airbus for Prague.
It was dark by the time we arrived so I didnīt see much on the drive to Bilina,
except to see that we were way out in the boonies!
I almost bought my own beer! But I didnīt have to because the headline band and
some of the hangers-on did that. Judging by their condition when I arrived at
the hotel in this remote part of The Czech Republic, I was surprised there was
even any beer left in the hotel!
Real communication was virtually impossible so I went to bed.
But I had to move some furniture around a bit because this huge room had hardly
any electrical outlets.
