Day 4
Eric and I
made an early start and headed for Frankfurt airport early to allow ourselves
time to navigate this huge complex and get through security etc. We
presented ourselves for check-in only to find that a lot of flights were delayed,
ours included. This period is one of the busiest for travel in Europe
because people are finishing their month-long vacation time so air traffic was a
bit jammed. For security reasons we are all told that we must present
ourselves at the airport 3 hours before departure but in Frankfurt they don´t
tell you where to check in until 2 hours before flight time! Go figure!
So we
meandered around, found a café and kept our eyes on the departure boards for
some useful information…. Which eventually arrived! (You know you're on a
small plane when you can't reach into your pocket without nudging the person
next to you in the ribs!)
I arrived in
Sozopol at around 10pm and even though it was dark, I could tell it was a
special place and I look forward to seeing more of it tomorrow morning.
George had booked me into the Presidential Suite at this hotel and it was really
spectacular. It won't be too hard to spend a few days here!
But right now
it was time to re-connect with some of the good people that had brought me here
and enjoy a little food.
