Sunday May 20th:
Sorry to be a bit late with this little story
but these two days were the craziest I can remember in a long time!!
Monica and I arrived in Hamburg on Sunday
thinking we’d be able to sneak in and have at least part of the day to rest,
relax and enjoy some great German food.
WRONG!!
We were met at the airport by the camera crew
who were filming some “documentary” footage for the live DVD and they followed
us to the waiting van which was one of 4 vehicles provided by the Audi dealer
who was sponsoring transport for the show. 3 of them were de-luxe VW vans and
the other one was a totally tricked-out, 4.2 litre, 320 horse-power Audi Q7 SUV!
They were all painted up with the album title
and details of the concert which looked really cool!
After a couple of interviews we arrived at
the hotel and began meeting some of our very special friends who had come a long
way to be at this event. Too many names to mention here but it did create a
special feeling for us.
A quick production meeting, a great barbecue
at Ronald’s house and suddenly the day (and most of the evening) had gone, so it
was time to get moved in and enjoy a little wine as our friends continued to
arrive.
We were
pretty tired because we had to get up early to catch our Air Berlin flight from
Alicante to Hamburg so we didn’t leave it too late….. Monday looked like being a
looooong day!
