Back To Winter….
Prelude
I am really
excited about this trip and that's mainly because there are so many "new"
challenges in it.
I am going to
Iceland for the first time and for me it's always fun to go to a new place and
to see totally new faces. In my long career I have been just about everywhere
and faced almost every conceivable challenge but there is always something new
and I am thankful for this particular opportunity.
Having said
that, there are still many places I would like to go but which seem to be
off-limits because of one war or another……
Tonight I am
in Frankfurt and tomorrow I will fly to Reykjavik to preare for the show with
Eirikur and the Icelandic musicians. As you know, "Eric" is the lead singer in
Live Fire and because he is originally from Iceland, he has enlisted some top
players and singers who have prepared an interesting set list. Another challenge
and another one that I am looking forward to.
After that I
will return to Germany to do the ZDF TV show, "Fernsehgarten" and a mini-concert
with some great German musicians at radio SWR1 in Mainz before I go to Norway to
prepare for the Lillehammer Festival, a great event and this will be my first
time there.
In an ideal
world of course I would like to have Live Fire with me and although that's not
always financially and practically possible, the great thing about working with
other musicians is that I always learn something(s) from the experience.
So I will keep
you posted as I leave the Spanish Spring, head back to winter in Iceland and
return to the confused German Spring.
God bless,
Ken
