Day 5
My voice is no
better this morning…… tonight will be tough!
George had
organised a press conference at Yasen´s piano bar as part of his campaign/crusade
to promote his maxi-single featuring John and myself on their cover of July
Morning as well as his petition plan to officialise Bulgaria´s celebration of
July 1st with the song. It will be really cool if it happens (it happens anyway)
but it will be tough I think for George to convince them to make it a national
holiday! But that´s his goal and he is determined (he would have no problem with
this concept in Spain by the way).
So we talked
to the media for a while and went back to the beach for lunch.
Tonight´s show
is on the beach in Bourgas and it´s a great venue.
Sound check
was okay but by the time we got to the actual show everything had changed.
I had just
about enough voice but it didn´t matter anyway, the crowd was so loud and so
close I felt like I was watching them!
I like it when
audiences are close. It´s much easier to connect but, without security, it can
be risky.
At one point a
guy decided he wanted to give me his necklace and just climbed up on the stage
behind me and proceeded to almost strangle me…. all this in the middle of a song!
After
signing and posing for pictures we went for a night cap to the Poco Loco and I
got to bed way too late!
