An update message from Ken Hensley

“Hi Everyone…

Well, I survived another birthday and have been working flat-out on “Blood on The Highway” ever since.
The tracks are 75% done now and we are working on some details now, until we take a break from October 5th to the 30th. During that time I’ll be travelling up to Apeldoorn. We are going to drive and take a little vacation too and on the way back we’ll pass through the French wine country and maybe we’ll even stop there for a while…!!!

Last week I had a great re-union with John Lawton who came up to Alicante to record a vocal track for the project. It was good to spend some time with him and Iris and he did a fantastic job on “his” song!! I think you’ll like it! I sent you a picture which was taken just after lunch… There’s a lot of life in the “old dogs”!!

Today, as I write this, we are setting up in the conservatory of Alicante to record some of the players from the Alicante Symphony. We will use 24 string players on two songs and later we’ll record the oboe in the studio.. (I’m also enclosing a picture of me with the string section and Joán Iborra, the director and conductor of the symphony.

It’s a busy and fantastic time and I am really excited about the project all together.  It will be released in February 2007 just in time for the European and Scandinavian tours!

Nine of the original 10 October shows have been re-booked for March 2007, starting in Budapest on the 15th. My new German agent (details as soon as the contract is signed!) will book the rest of the European shows and Arne Aronsen is busy now booking the Scandinavian dates which start on June 15th.  There is also the possibility of 5 shows in Russia in February so there’s a lot going on…

We’re adding Arne’s contact details to the web site in case you are interested or have any questions:

The rest of 2006 will be busy and now it looks as though the first half of 2007 will be a great time too. With any luck we’ll finish the touring in time to plan for the next birthday!! I LOVE it!

God bless,
Ken
