“Hi Everyone…
So we finally get to take a break from recording “Blood On The
Highway” and, among other things, I will use this time to finish
the last four songs for the project.
We recently brought Jorn Lande (“Masterplan” et al) down
from Norway to sing on three tracks of the new CD and he did a
fantastic job! We will have four or five different voices at
various points on the CD which are giving it a lot of fresh
dynamics and character. This works particularly well on a
“concept” project like this.
But, as I said, we have a welcome break now which Monica and I
will take advantage of for a short vacation on our way to and from
Apeldoorn. It will be our first vacation in more than six
years so we are both looking forward to it. As I mentioned
before we are going to drive so it should also be quite relaxing!
Not only that but flying out of Alicante is becoming a major
headache, for a number of reasons. The airport is really too
small (they are expanding it but no-one’s holding their breath
while that happens!!) and there are so many tourists that the
place is like a permanent zoo!! Actually, I think flying in
general is becoming a bit of a pain in the !#$%^. I am not
sure why, but I do know that it used to be fun and it’s not
anymore!! But we have to do what we have to do…
During this break I also hope to read the final draft of the
second edition of “When Too Many Dreams Come True”. I have
read Matthias’ outline and it looks really cool so I’ll keep you
posted on that here.
Arne and Petter are working on Scandinavian dates for late
February so that might come together before we start the European
tour in Plzen, Czech Republic, on March 15th. As soon as the
last few dates of part 1 are confirmed Rod will have the dates to
put up on the tour dates page so keep your eyes open… they should
be completed by the end of this week.
Thanks again for all the great messages you send me. I am
really looking forward to sharing the new music with you on CD and
live and I’ll let know you about the book release date as well as
the live DVD just as soon as I have the information.
Time to open the Rioja and celebrate a little bit!!
God bless,
Ken
