Day 6

Now I am not just thinking about going home, I am really excited about it so, when my eyes popped open at 6:30am, I was ready to get ready!

The extremely harsh, zero tolerance no-smoking rules here are a bit of a challenge but they were presented to us at check-in in such a nice way, there was no thought of defying them, even though I carry small ash trays with me everywhere I go.

Breakfast was good and by 10:30 everyone was gathered for our drive to Bodo airport.

More spectacular scenery followed as we drove along the edge of a gigantic fjord until we arrived at the airport. It´s a tiny airport, quite new actually and, being a Sunday, relatively quiet.

The toilets were new and shiny and the doors opened outwards! Maybe you have never thought about this, maybe you never will but, if you do, you´ll understand why this is such a good idea, especially at an airport.

The flight was quick and painless and Wiggo had changed my hotel so I was happy. I checked into my (smoking …. Yipee!) room, emptied all my bags and began to re-pack for the flight home.

This was a challenge and I ended up about 6 kilos over the prescribed 20 kilo maximum.

As I began to relax for the first time in a long time I enjoyed a lazy meal in the excellent restaurant (I was the only one in there) and a little red wine (Tuscany) in my room before going to bed very early. I needed to be at the airport by 06:00 in the morning and I needed at least some sleep.
