Although we got a late start today
we did get a lot done, including the basic track for "Illusion".
We are actually a lot farther forward than we thought (that sometimes
happens… you think you are behind schedule and then, as you
knock off the overdubs, suddenly you realise that the light at the
end of the tunnel is not so far away after all!) and I was able
to get the lead vocals done on "Free Me", "July Morning"
and "The Wizard".
The orchestra arrangements were delivered today which didn't help
me a lot since I can't read (or write) a note of formal music but
it's nice to know that they are here.
Finally (and I was really exhausted by the end of this day) I had
a chance to meet with my Moscow lawyer and Sony to discuss some
details regarding the cover art and other boring but very important
matters. Nothing was really resolved but there are some very interesting
ideas floating around. On Rod's advice we have eliminated the word
"Magician" from our thinking and I'll let you know where
we end up with all of this. One thing I am sure of is that this
will be a "must-have" item… for a lot of reasons!
