We pulled into Helsinki exactly on time. Richie
was there to meet us along with the crew from St. Petersburg who
would escort us into Russia. All of this went smoothly with very
little delay along the way and we arrived into St. Petersburg at
6:30 pm. As I have said before, touring in Russia has its own set
of specific problems and the first one was the hotel they had booked
us into… by accident they said!! No working phones, brown smelly
cold water, front desk staff who evidently didn't talk to one another…
we were too tired to do anything about it at this point but it won't
happen when we come back!!
Dinner was good and then a non-moving bed!! Although I have to say
the best night's sleep I have had so far were on the boat!!
