Perhaps I should say “the gremlins strike again” because the first day of this trip was quite frustrating, not to mention reeeeeaaaally long!!

I left my house at 09:30 and it was a sad farewell because I have never been away from Monica for this long (3 weeks) so I had to say goodbye to her as well as all the dogs and cats etc.  Plus I hadn’t been away since the Summer Party at the end of July so my home roots had grown quite deep!

Anyway, we set off for Alicante airport which wasn’t too crowded and that part went quite smoothly.  The flight took off on time, I slept a little, worked on my book and thought about what was ahead of me.

The bits I knew about seemed quite interesting and I am looking forward to working with my new band, beginning with rehearsals on Monday but first I have a solo show to do tomorrow night.

I am not totally prepared really. I haven’t practised enough so I am relying on some down time in the hotel to get caught up!!

I arrived in Stockholm on time (the direct flights to Oslo were full) but Rino was a bit late arriving. He had driven for more than 5 hours to pick me up so, when he did arrive, he had to turn around and do it again!!

After getting lost a few times (I love that) and then running into some nasty weather, we finally arrive in Fredrikstad at 01:00 and by the time I had checked in, moved in and got to bed it was past 02:00… and I was tired!!

Nothing to do after a 21 ˝ hour day but sleep… it can only get better… can’t it?

Next day...
