DAY 15

So now we are off to Oulu which is quite far north… about a four hour drive from Vaasa. It was snowing a lot today so we had to be careful and I gave the wheel to Dave for the last two hours so I could get my nap!

The Foxia is a great venue but Ade Barnard (our sound guy) had to wrestle with the sound system quite a bit. As usual though he got it together but it meant that sound check went past curfew!! Ooopps. Anyway the only problem was it cut down our time to eat and get ready but I can't eat less than three hours before a show anyway.

We had some fun finding the hotel in the snow and prepared for our last gig in Finland which went very well! It wasn't perhaps the most enthusiastic audience so we closed the set with the new version of "Lady In Black" instead of doing it as the encore and that woke everyone up so the show ended up with very rowdy singing.
It had gone well and we now knew that 5 gigs in a row is quite possible even under these difficult driving conditions etc… this will give us much more flexibility for future touring plans!

At the end we celebrated the completion (finish?) of our Finnish dates and the first leg of our World Tour 2002. We were faced with a long (9 hours) drive to Turku tomorrow so we didn't have much time to sleep.

I am really pleased with the way this is going and deeply thankful to everyone who has worked hard to make this a team effort. And of course I am always thankful in my prayers!!!

It's 4:20am now and I have to get up in… aaaaaghh!!!

Next day...
