DAY 22
I'll have to finish this later as I am trying to
get ready to leave. Four hours sleep and an eight hour drive to
Uppsala, Sweden…… gonna need some extra strength today
and I know where to get it! Hardly had time to dream but that's
the road sometimes. "Talk" to you later but wanted to
get this update to Rod.
I'm back… literally… in the back seat of the people carrier
watching Sweden go by and Dave drive. Earlier in the tour we had
a bug flying around which we have named the "company cold".
Dave had it the worst and now Andy's got it! It's been trying to
get me but thank God it hasn't so far!
Just to think that tonight is the last show of the first leg of
this adventure which was just a dream not that long ago! I've always
believed that if you want something and you're willing to work hard,
even to fight for it, it can be done. Of course my faith has a lot
to do with that thinking now but, as I look back over my life, I
see the many, many things that I have been blessed with and I am
so grateful. And I am thankful to each of you reading this because
you have helped to keep it all alive!!
Today is a difficult one in many ways because we have to fly home
from an airport 90 kms away from Uppsala and we won't be able to
go to the hotel after sound check. Hope the gig has a shower!!!
I am expecing to hook up with Annica and our friends from Rock Classiker
106.7 in Stockholm who have helped promote the show and I am sure
there will be some end-of-tour celebrating afterwards but we have
to drive so we have to be careful too! We need to get back to the
hotel fairly quickly so we don't miss the start of the Brazilian
Grand Prix!! Anyway, we'll be there soon so I'll catch up with you
later!
Made it safe and sound although at this stage we are all pretty
tired… and tonight's gig isn't scheduled until midnight!!!
But it was worth it… this may have been the best gig so far
and the band really rocked!! The new versions of "Stealin'"
and "Lady In Black" are going down a storm and we are
looking forward to recording them in England.
Made it back to the hotel at about 4am and packed, finally crashing
at 5!! Couldn't stay up for the race but will catch up when we get
home.
