MONDAY 30th

Said goodbye to everyone and climbed into Eduardo's van for the 5-6 hour drive home. Did some work on the computer and then we stopped for lunch and a couple of espressos. Since I moved to Spain I have become quite a fan of siestas and espresso (wot? not more tea?…… ed), not to mention dinner at midnight!!! It's a great lifestyle and the climate is wonderful. Once again I'll be surrounded by 5 dogs and seven cats and I am looking forward to getting "home".

As I reflect on this tour I have to look back at the year as a whole and I can see that I have really learned a lot. I've been pleasantly surprised and reminded that the music is very important to a lot of people and that is one of the key things that will drive me as I start work on the new CD projects. I have learned a lot about myself too and I am still learning how to sing!!

One lesson that will definitely help is to spend a lot of time singing the new songs before we record them. On these tours I have experimented quite a lot and realised that there is much more in some of the songs and I want to make sure that they "live" fully when they are done.

And I am reminded that there is no substitute for professionalism and for doing the right thing… not just doing things right!

I think I am better at dealing with the frustrations that occur on the road, I am more patient and hopefully not as selfish. I know that I am not the easiest person in the world to work with because I have such a strong vision of where I want to go, especially musically, but I do hope that those who come along will enjoy the ride!!

Most of all I am thankful to everyone who has made this possible. It's not that long ago that I said I would never tour again and I must admit I was a bit hesitant earlier this year but now I am already looking forward to touring again next year, probably starting in April. So I hope you don't mind if I list the "cast of characters" from 2002… to Yatta, Dave Kilminster, Paul Kennedy, Andy Pyle, Ade Barnard, Aron Ross, Lee Small, Monica and so many others I can only say the biggest "thank you".

Of course there were others behind the scenes and I will not forget my "boss", the one I strive to serve above all, Jesus Christ without whom nothing would be possible.

Last but not least let me thank each and every one of you whether you came to a show this year or not… you have made more of my dreams come true and I hope that you'll be there to help me bring even more music to life in 2003.

God bless you all,
Ken
