Amadicia

Amadicia itself is a relatively minor player in world politics.  It is better known as the home of the Children of the Light.  It is the Children who rule in Amadicia.  The Children allow the monarchy to continue in Amadicia, largely to avoid ceremonial duties.  The current ruler, King Ailron, actually does have some small amount of power; this power will only last as long as he does not go against the wishes of the Children, of course.

The capital city is Amador, which is also the location of the Fortress of the Light.  All know that it is the Fortress which holds the real power in Amadicia, not the King’s Serenda Palace.

Channeling is outlawed in Amadicia, at order of the Children, causing Aes Sedai to avoid the country if at all possible.  Even if they did not channel, their ageless features would undoubtedly bring them unwanted attention.

Aes Sedai are not the only ones who avoid Amadicia whenever possible.  Amadicia’s harsh laws serve to frighten away common criminals, such as thieves.  A person is branded the first time they are caught stealing, loses a hand for the second, and is hanged after their third offense.

Amadicia, as a nation, plays little role in the politics of the world.  The Children, however, are another matter.  Children of the Light can be found in virtually every nation, and also present a sizable military presence in the land.  All rulers know that dealing with Amadicia truly means dealing with the Children of the Light
