Dreaming

Aes Sedai who show the Talent of Dreaming are able to enter Tel’aran’rhiod.  This Unseen World is a dangerous place to tread for those without the correct knowledge.  There is more to being a Dreamer, though, than simply being able to enter Tel’aran’rhiod.  There are various ter’angreal which enable those other than Dreamers to enter Tel’aran’rhiod, even a nonchanneler.

Dreamers are able to foresee future events in their dreams.  But this is not the same as Foretelling; when something is Foretold, it will definitely occur.  The dreams of Dreamers, on the other hand, seem to speak of possible futures.  They can be viewed as a warning from the Pattern, to change the flows of the Pattern and what might occur.

Dreaming is not an ability that is tied to the One Power.  While the Tower has not seen a Dreamer for hundreds of years, several of the Aiel Wise Ones are dreamwalkers.

As the Wheel turns toward a new Age, old Talents begin to resurface among the Aes Sedai and elsewhere.  The reappearance of Dreaming is just one example of this.
