Adam's Letter

There have been many gifts I have received over a span of 51 years,
to include Birthdays, Christmas and other celebrations.
None will top this one today!

Adam is one of my sons
who learned life the hard way in most instances.
He has always possessed the heart of his Father
and Mother, like the other boys.
But if you are a parent,
you are as a Shepherd,
and usually one will stray from the fold.

This was Adam....
But today with other gifts,
he handed me a hand written letter.

I want to share it with you now.

Mom and Dad

I never realized the love and patience
it takes to raise a child
untill I started helping Diana
and Alyssa.

You have gone above and beyond
the average parent
in bringing me up.

I just wanted you to know
that there wasn't anything you could have done
different to make me a better man.

I've made my own decisions and mistakes
and now I must live with them.

I'm trying to turn over a new leaf
and I will.

Not to say those leaves will fall,
and leave me standing in the wind
as bare as I once was nearly 23 years ago
when I was brought into this world.

But knowing I have two wonderful parents
who will continue to help me grow
and nourish me,
lets me know,
I'll always be healthy in mind, in heart, and in soul.
