Now And Forever

Ahhh, this is one of my favorite songs. Here's my analysis. Scully is always Mulder’s haven and refuge. Though often skeptical of his theories and ideas, she is always there for him when push comes to shove, and always believes in him when he needs her most. He needs her in the face of all the adversity of the Bureau, and he needs her because she balances his passion out. She is the reason to his rhyme. Often Mulder overlooks how important Scully is to his work and his life. Sometimes he takes her for granted, or brushes her off, or puts her in danger. But something always happens to remind him that he can’t function with this woman, and he remembers how lucky he was that Dana Scully was assigned to debunk his work. In the beginning, Scully was a skeptic. She didn’t really believe in the paranormal. But after five years with Mulder and the X Files, she can’t help but begin to believe her eyes and ears and heart. Mulder knows he can count on her now, for support against the Bureau, and for personal support. She is his "one in five billion." Mulder now knows how vitally important Scully is to him. He can’t work without her. He won’t work without her. She is everything to him, and without her, he becomes a shell of a man. He will do anything, take any risk, to keep her near him. And that’s how it is.

Whenever I’m weary from the battles that rage in my head
You make sense of madness when my sanity hangs by a thread
I lose my way but still you seem to understand
Now and forever, I will be your man

Sometimes I just hold you, too caught up in me to see
I'm holding a fortune that heaven has given to me
I'll try to show you each and every way I can
Now and forever, I will be your man

Now I can rest my worries and always be sure
That I won't be alone anymore
If I'd only known you were there all the time
All this time

Until the day the ocean doesn't touch the sand
Now and forever, I will be your man
Now and forever, I will be your man
