Roger Aubrey became the costumed hero, Dynamite during the Second World War and fought alongside his best friend Brian Falsworth in his guise of The Mighty Destroyer. When his father, Montgomery Falsworth (aka Union Jack I), was crippled by Baron Blood (John Falsworth, Montgomery Falsworth's brother and Uncle to Brian Falsworth) Brian became Union Jack (II) and Roger Aubrey replaced Brian as the Mighty Destroyer. Since the death of Brian in a crash in 1953 Roger Aubrey has become clinically depressed and having fought villains all of his life his own morals have become questionable. This has caused friction with the younger generation of the V - Battalion who feel that he should stand down as leader of the V-Battalion. After his death and resurrection in the final issue of the four issue limited series Citizen V and the V - Battalion: The Everlasting he agrees to retire and is replaced by Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch.
