Part Two
By Leah (me)
As TJ crept into the killcruiser, she thought of all the horrible stories she had heard about the Spung. Terrified, she was worrying about what she would say if she actually met one of them when she heard voices down the hall.
"Yes, Jeff, we will refrain from killing the girl. We'll let her go on the conditions that we get out of here. They can give us fuel, of course," Warlord Shank said with a grin. The two of them were walking down the hall, oblivious of her existence, as she hid in a corridor.
Suddenly, TJ sneezed.
"Did you hear that, Shank?"
Shank nodded and ran forward, appearing before her and grabbing her collar. "I think it came from here, but you can never be sure, can you, Jeff?"
TJ fainted.
She woke up hearing her sister yell, "You mean I actually get to go home? Actually, like, away from here?" She jumped up and grinned. "You Spung jerks can actually be nice if you want to be."
They took her by the arms and led her out of a cell down the hall and out the door. Kelly hadn't seen her, she continued chattering.
TJ watched in teary silence. "But what about me?" she whispered to herself.
"We're almost there!" Bea yelled triumphantly. She and Lizzie, Jeff's wife, had heard all about how Shank and Jeff had crash-landed on Earth through the rumor mill. Laughing, they had packed up a small ship with fuel.
They and the four children reached Earth and landed their little ship right next to the crashed killcruiser. They walked in.
TJ could hear all of the yells from down the hall of reunited families. She glowered at them when they wandered into her sight. //Why me?//
She was really unhappy, making faces at them. One of the twin girls of Warlord Shank smiled at her and walked over to her with this unbelievably cute look on her face. (Elmira and Caroline were about 3 or 4 Earth years old at that point, they were toddlers, and therefore cute.)
"What do you want, little Spung?" TJ asked, making a face. She was in a really terrible mood. "Go away. Go back to that warlord over there. Get out of my face."
The girl continued to look up through the bars at TJ with a smile.
"Bea, this is great! We can get off of this horrible planet. And we'll take that little girl with us, she'd be a good hostage," Shank said, and pointed at TJ.
"Elmira, get away from the Earther lady. She could hurt you," Bea called, and turned to look at Caroline, who was sitting on the ground, had broken her necklace and was playing with its beads.
TJ made a face at Bea. "Can you please get your child away from me. I detest children."
"Oh, yeah," Bea countered, "Well, I detest your attitude."
"Come on, you guys, let's just get off of this planet once and for all!" Jeff yelled. All of them left. Elmira was picked up by Warlord Shank, who gave TJ a look that was cruel enough to kill.
"You're taking be away from my home," TJ whispered after them. "I may never see my family again." But there was no one there to listen to her.
