However, some of the darker aspects of the project involving the combination and breeding of Sectoid/Human cross-breeds is true and XCOM has already made a personal apology to the U.N. Humanitarian Commitee in regards to the experiments carried out.
Many of the mutant children
produced by these experiments have since been put in foster-homes where their progress has been remarkable while other older children have elected to serve XCOM and have done so admirably. The number of mutants worldwide was already on the rise in any case, due to Alien Abductions during the First Alien War and the Spore Clouds released by the destruction of T'Leth.
