X-Men #75 - "Anatomy of a Monster"

Wolverine wakes up, scarred, and looking for Maggot, that blames his slugs for the murder that was not so long ago. Dr. Reyes and Beast (or just Dr. Reyes), comes to a conclusion that the slugs couldn't perform that kind of scar because the tools that are used for Autopsies. At the mean time - Wolverine finds a gateway to the home world of a creatures called - The N'Garai and Beast and Dr. Reyes join him. Rogue, CannonBall and Storm finds Maggot at last, and he jumps after his slugs because he thinks they are trying to escape, and the others are following him because they they think he's trying to escape.. they actually jumped in a N'Garai gateway who led them to Ukraine to a room full of dead Russian men, and without Maggot. At the mansion - the N'Garai gateway is open and creatures called the Ru'Tai are leashed. After a short battle with the Ru'Tai, Marrow shows up. She, Beast and Cecilia are kidnapped by the Ru'Tai and are trying to use Cecilia to be an experimental rabbit as they did on Wolverine, but they are unsuccessful because of her force field. Wolverine saves Maggot's life because Maggot is so tired and almost cannot fight. Cecilia gets to meet the Ru'Tai leader, Pilgrimm, that is pissed off because she calls them N'Garai (and she doesn't even know them, ironic, isn't it?), that built their empire on the backs of the Ru'Tai. Just before Pilgrimm kills her, Cecilia can see Maggot's slugs on his shoulder. Storm, Rogue and CannonBall show up to save her, but Pilgrimm uses some kind of "Eye" on them, and then Wolverine and Maggot show up. Pilgrimm bowed down towards Wolverine, and than freed Marrow and Beast and made Storm, CannonBall and Rogue wake up. Pilgrimm showed him his statue and told that if it wasn't for him, the N'Garai would overcome the Ru'Tai world. After Maggot convinced him, he fought Pilgrimm. In the battle, Marrow made the "Eye" fall from Pilgrimm's "hands", Cecilia jumped towards it, and crashed with her.. hmmmm.. ? well.. BUTT force field. The place was crashing down and everybody ran like hell to the gateway and landed at Las Vegas. At the end you can see that Pilgrimm survived and has taken over a human body.

I really liked this chapter, at least.. the X-Men, fighting, to defend the world - like the good old days - after the Operation: Zero Tolerance, I think somebody's back in shape for now.. don't you think?
