Smash Ogre is one of my very
favorite characters in Xanth. He is a cross-breed of half ogre and half human. He was so
proud of his ogre heritage. Ogres are known for their strength and stupidity. They usually
talk in rhyme. They are about twice the size of a human and are ugly. If you come across
some trees that are twisted in knots, an ogre has been there!
Smash went to The Good Magician
Humfrey
for an answer. The only thing, he didn't know the question. Humfrey sent him to find his
ancestors and he was to take Tandy with him to protect her.
Along the way he meet up
with several females who for one reason or another needed him. He also came across an
eye-queue plant that made him smart. (Oh the humility!)
He is such a kind soul and
I can't help but love him. You can read all about him in the book "Ogre
Ogre".
