The Death of A World

Dreamt by Nic, 26 November 1997. This was a really shocking, powerful and intensely realistic dream. I may turn it into a fanfic someday. So allow me to copyright it! On G889, the planet, and I was part of a horrifying vehicle chase down a mountain. We had to get away or we'd be put into prison. We were Eden Advance and Devon was still locked in cold sleep - yet the ship was in a lush green valley that was far behind us as we raced to escape the Council. Then everything stopped. We were on a small brown plateau, upon the edge of a forested mountain and as we stared to the horizon, a burning ball rose. It was so hot and so bright I was sure it was the sun, yet it moved too quickly for that. And then it exploded. A nuclear shockwave seared across the landscape as we watched from our high vantage point, able to see so far. Everything in its path was... obliterated - the trees, oh, the trees, the blue river, the ship in which Devon lay... And the shockwave was coming for us. We screamed and faced for the small shelter - if only we could get there in time - and those of us who made it huddled in terror. But Uly and Denner were still poised on the edge of the rock when the wind of radiation struck and their bodies were instantly obliterated into a million particles. It was horrifying and shocking. All of the land had been destroyed. Never shall I forget that terrifying 'beauty' of the shockwave as it raced across the land, killing it, for it was beautiful in a tragic way - that sun, the glory....
