Whether external or self-defined
they exist within the mind,
just like the walls to a cell
they confine you just as well.
When told of the things you cannot
achieve,
left unchallenged you begin to
believe.
Then fear of failure sets the
bricks into place,
as you hide from the challenges
you cannot face.
And with your confinement chamber
finally complete,
you extinguish all desire to try and
compete.
Becoming satisfied with who, what and
where you are,
no longer seeking to reach for
the stars.
