everything you never wanted to know about me

i was born october 30, 1965. if you're bad at math, that makes me 36 (for a few more weeks!). i'm officially 2 years too young to be a baby boomer, and 2 years too old to belong to generation x. i'm quite content belonging to neither. :) i am just as comfortable listening to celine dion and barbra streisand as i am alanis morrissette, jewel, or sarah maclachlan. i prefer groups like u2, pearl jam, and artists like sting , shawn mullins, and seal

i live in bedford, tx, about 15 miles north and east of fort worth. i love the state of texas, and i'll never leave it unless they carry me kicking and screaming. i love the dallas cowboys, win or lose, good or bad, better or worse. maybe this year??! :)

i have some diverse political views, to which my friends can attest. i am anti abortion, pro choice, tough on crime, but against capital punishment. i am for gun control, but pro law-enforcement, for government minimization and pro-business.

i once took an iq test at iqtest.com and rated a 153. they think i'm a genius. here are the results so you can decide for yourself. i also took the meyers-briggs personality test and got lumped in with that rare 1% of INTP's. (i)ntroverted, i(n)tuitive, (t)hinking,
(p)erceiving, personality type. here is an outline of the INTP personality type. you can decide if it suits me or not

my favorite books are 'foucault's pendulum' by umberto eco, 'i know why the caged bird sings' by maya angelou, and 'the lorax' by dr seuss. my favorite poets are edgar allen poe, william shakespeare, robert frost, w.h. auden, and my favorite poems are 'sonnet #73 by w.s., 'the road not taken' by robert frost, 'funeral blues' by w.h. auden, 'a dream within a dream' and 'the bells' by e.a. poe. favorite artist? he's got his own page on my site! fantasy realist michael parkes, I have his artwork all over my house, and my coffee table is covered with books of his work. my favorite movies are 'inherit the wind', 'the lion in winter', 'a man for all seasons', 'contact', and 'the abyss'.

i've met a lot of kind people on the internet who have helped me build my web page, and/or who've become my friends. i'd like to take the opportunity to say hi to some of them.

lisa, john, terry, jep, roberta, chuck, susan, susie, fran, denise, sarah, libby, tom, steve, jared, ray, and all the others from the now defunct time/warner pathfinder.

i originally opened this website on GeoCities 4 years ago, and it lived here until june 29, 1999. it was at this time that the Terms of Service agreement by Yahoo! (GeoCities new owner) sparked a mass exodus from GeoCities. the TOS, in essence, gave Yahoo! a free license of the materials contained herein, and the right to do whatever they wished with it. it wasn't until Yahoo! radically revised it's TOS and gave an explanation for the blunder that I moved back in and restored my files to the server.

i was a community leader here at GeoCities but the program has been virtually scrapped by Yahoo! for fear of lawsuits. i am available to homesteaders to answer questions about web site design, html, ftp, etc, so if you need a hand just give me a holler and i'll see what i can do for you.

i've also delved into web graphics, and discovered that i enjoy making design sets for web pages (the star motif on this site is original). i've only got a few sets online, but they're here if you're interested in looking them over. i can also make custom graphics for your site as I have for several GeoCities sites already. just follow the e-mail link below and we can talk!

write me any time by e-mail, or by signing my guestbook. i love getting feedback on my pages, and meeting new people.
