Cfids is an immune syndrome, a recursive physiological disease that robs the victim of stanima, clear effective thinking, and many of life's enjoyments.

Chronic fatigue syndrome is a title that mocks its patients. We should strive to replace derision with dignity. Every breathing body has assets and purpose. For those of us challenged, we need to look beyond our childhood scripts.

In 1996, I started the PWC Address book, a means to allow PERSONS With Chronic illnesses to share and exchange survival skills. In 1999, this site opened our welcome to folks with other chronic illnesses for the purpose of getting to better tiers.
Sure, some of us compete for the limited research fundings. On personal levels, let's stop allowing circumstances to divide and conquer our rights to enjoy a better, happier day. Welcome to the Internet venue lending a hand.

[PWC ADDRESS BOOK]

THE ANSWERED PRAYER
by Ann Logan

Once upon a time, I wanted to die. My personal belief is that suicide would insult God and hurt my friends. They would feel as though they may have done something to push-me-over-the-edge. So, I took to praying for death--the theological way out. Doctors warned me that there were several elements that could make that happen, my allergic asthma for one. God wasn't replying

One night, I asked in prayer, the one in whom I always trust, "What is the purpose of continuing a spirit strip of avenues to act in this world?"

I had a dream of a woman dressed in blue. It was so relaxing and loving. She directed me to a garden bed in a field I had used to plant a garden years before.

She said,"You pull all the weeds, removing all the pests. But by stripping all the weeds, you have allowed the winds to strip the earth of its top soil. What is here is bare."

I knew she meant my nickpicking on what my healthy life was in comparison to all the pain and sickness and frustration and loss.

She went on to say, "Build a better garden. Instead of struggling to fight with weeds that will eventually come back, plant seeds. Plant lots of types of seeds. Plant thickly and as often as you can. It will shadow the weeds who need sunlight to grow."

**By sunlight, I knew she meant mental focus and reflection--my worries and concerns.

"Some seeds won't grow--that's life. Failure is a direction not a derision. Some will come up in shapes you won't expect--that's life too. Take the unexpected. Some will foster into food to feed you. That is your garden, that is your soul."

I agreed with all she said, but couldn't shake the isolated funk. People were not in my life at the time. Doctors, social workers, persons seeing my by need-only basis. With my means then,I never would have dreamed of logging onto the Internet.

She told me that I was part of her family, she is a mother to me and the world. As part of such a big family, I was now tagged with a greater sense of responsibility. She chuckled knowing that I really wasn't looking forward to more work through fatigue. "Sometimes pain encourages another's life to change."

Then, I realized I wasn't a nothing. I was in the game. I mattered! I love the lady in blue and everything she said in a dream. It mattered then, it matters now, making a terrific difference in my life.
