Susan was teaching her usual weekly night class at the university. She
sat atop the empty table at the front of the room, dangling her feet in
front of her. Her shoes lay in disarray upon the floor below. Just as
she stood to continue her point, the electricity throughout the building
failed. Her stocking feet sliding on the tile floor, Susan slipped.
Much like the rest of the city, Susan's lights were out. As she lost
conciousness, the class disrupted in a panic. The room was cleared in
30 seconds, as students scrambling out the room and down the hall
searched in vain for solace and sanctuary.
