Drive Through Poetry

Get a dish of poetry served with a side of wit. This 50's style diner with it's menu of poems to choose from defies the typical somber (or cutesy) atmosphere of a poetry site.. Truely unique!!!

Current Happenings and Thought Provoking Things

These are just a few articles, forwards, stories, etc. that I found interesting, informative, moving, or insightful. I may not agree with everything they say, but they made me think, and I wanted to pass them on to you.

A Quirky and Vibrant Mosaic. An interesting look at the Evangelical movement.

Mr. Roger's : An article about his life, written while he was still alive. One of the best I've read. Inspiring.

Death, terror in N. Korean Gulag: Article by NBC describing N. Korean prison camps.

A Bible Study A few things I learned last Christmas that I would love to share with you. (Also known as Christmas Bible Study, but not just about Christmas.)

I found a page with on-line lectures from a Messianic Jewish Conference which included real audio of a lecture by Dr. Bruce Stoke, a professor of mine at Cal Baptist, about the relationship between Christian Gentiles (that is, any Christian that isn't a jew) and the Torah. He doesn't get into much for the first five minutes or so, but once he does get going he gives you A LOT to think about. Please check out this awsome lecture at Seminars from the 1997 UMJC ConferenceIt's the forth lecture from the top listed under: Dr. Bruce Stokes, A Gentile Approach to Jewish Traditions. You can listen to it while you surf the net.

Articles and links on the Terrorist Attack - Sept 11, 2001

Praises Related to the Wedgewood Baptist Shooting.
This is incredible. It is a list of praises, yes praises, from a member of Wedgewood Baptist regarding the shooting. It shows truely how God works all things to the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose...even things as tragic as this was.

"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen" (Ephesians 3:14-21)
