Links, Links, Links
Some sites I visit or use from time to time. Feel free to join me.
Winnie-the-Pooh Star Wars Music Games Literary Resources Language Resources Search Tools Newsgroups Miscellaneous Pooh stuff
- Play Pooh-sticks!
- The Disney home page.
- The Velveteen Rabbit, a very sweet classic children's story (not really Pooh, but related).
Star Wars
- The official Star Wars--Episode I page! I almost can't believe they are already shooting it! Wheeeeeeeeee!
- Information about the Star Wars Collectible Card Game from the makers themselves, Decipher.
Music Links (OK, mostly R.E.M. links. Have a problem with that?)
- The homepage for the newsgroup rec.music.rem. You want information? Then come and get it!
- Chris Bray's R.E.M. chords archive. The chords for just about every R.E.M. song ever released--or unreleased.
- Kipp Teague's R.E.M. lyrics archive. The words for all the songs in the chord archive, and more.
- The official 10,000 Maniacs homepage. This is very professionally done; even if you don't like the band, you might like the webpage design.
- The Ultimate Band List. The name says it all.
Games
- Geckoplex is a rather confusing but fun collection of offbeat games. Watch yourself evolve from below pond scum to above human by solving their word puzzles!
- SportSim has a host of fantasy sports games, such as American Football and Basketball.
- Video game and Amiga emulators allow gameplaying bliss, if you have the right hardware.
- Pooh-sticks is definitely a game :)
- The surveys of Greenfield Online are almost like games, because you can win prizes if you participate in their polls.
- If you consider IQ-tests to be games, go to IQtest.com and play!
Literary Resources And The Like
- The On-line Books Page is where you can read the classics for free.
- Bartlett's Familiar quotations, a part of Project Bartleby
- The people behind the Pure Fiction Page want to help aspiring writers.
- Projekt Runeberg, Swedish and other Nordic authors anthologised on-line.
- Erin Carlson's essay directory.
- Encyclopaedia Britannica Online, and their free trial offer, or the student version.
Language Related Stuff
- Webster's Online Dictionary
- Roget's Thesaurus.
- A.Word.A.Day, a mailing list for those who, like me, like to learn new words.
- The Word Wizard page.
Search Engines
- MetaCrawler searches in several engines simultaneously.
- SavvySearch does something similar, but is still uniquely different (especially their experimental form), as well as providing an excellent list of good search engines.
- Search.com lists every search engine I can think of and a great many I can't.
- Yahoo! is a directory rather than a search engine, but whatever it is, it's certainly useful.
Newsgroups
- rec.music.rem deals, quite naturally, with R.E.M.
- rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad is about Wizards of the Coast's Jyhad, aka Vampire: the Eternal Struggle.
- alt.fan.pooh... Take a guess ;)
- Looking for an old article? Go to DejaNews, the newsgroup archive and search engine (or to their Power Search form).
Miscellaneous Pages (my friends and such)
Maribel Bylund is my beloved little wife. Look how far apart we used to be. We should be awarded medals for this, but now we are joined forever, physically, spiritually, mentally and in every way you could possibly imagine.
Isn't she beautiful? Of course she is :)
- Hillock! At last this marvellous creation has received a home on the Web. It is a work in progress, but well worth checking out. Swedish only for the moment.
- Leof's Role Playing Games Top 10. The name says it all--come in and vote for your favorite game.
- Martin Trump's page of polyhedrons. Not only is this very cool stuff, but Martin has hung in there for years now, and is still an active maintainer (unlike me -- sorry!).
- This is how my stories shall be rejected, if at all. Courtesy of Bryan Byun's Rejection Slips Page.
