Aptavani ...Satsang with Akram Vignani

Introduction

Aptavani is the original stream of the words that stem from the Self. Here are the eternal words of the Akram Vignani Pujya Shri Ambalal M. Patel popularly known as Dada, Dadashri, Gnani Purush, Dada Bhagwan, or Dadaji. In 1958 he attained enlightenment and in 1962 the first of his devotees were graced with this Atma Gnan ..or Atma Jnana..Knowledge of the Self , the Soul, the nature of the eternal Reality within...All interactions with him...satsangs..were in the form of question and answers. Those desirous of freedom or moksha received Atma Gnan from him in a 48 minute process called the Gnan Vidhi which was conducted in Gujarati language. Those searching for clarifications and worldy happiness were also graced by his simple and effective answers pertaining to Vyavahaar Vignana...material and world life science. Dr. Niruben Amin a young gynaecologist met Dada in 1968 and dedicated her entire life to his service..making recordings of all satsangs of The Gnani Purush. Extensive material relating to the method of direct and instant experience of eternal bliss of the Self has been published in the form of books which contain this new science called Akram Vignan. Dada spoke in simple language without the verbose and pedantic trappings of scriptures. He used to say that scriptures can only point the way or describe the Soul. The experience of the Soul is in the heart of The Gnani. One could draw many candles...but the one that is lit is the only one which throws light. The Light of Akram Vignan and Dada Bhagwan continues its work through the medium of Atma Vignani Niruben Amin.

SATSANG

The Guru & The Gnani

I have accepted somebody else my guru prior to meeting you. Is it right to make you my guru now?

You need two gurus. The gurus of the world teach you about shubhashoobh..the good and the not good, the virtues and the vice, whereas here you are releived from the good and the bad. In actuality this is not a guru shishya..disciple.. thing. Here nothing becomes a source of strain or stress.Everything here is worth seeking. Gurus are necessary for worldly and material happiness and with their grace this is possible. Such gurus are called laukik (worldly) gurus. This here is alaukik (beyond this world).

What is a laukik guru ?

The one who teaches the good is a laukik guru. What is the basis of this life ? Previous life planning. Good planning results in your getting good parents. You bring your world with you from your past life. The Grace of The Gnani is silent. He does not utter words of blessings like..may you get sons , may you become wealthy and happy. The Grace of The Gnani results in moksha (enlightenment, freedom).

Everyone is ultimately going to be liberated, why is a Gnani needed ?

One has to arrive at the central station. All life forms have existed from infinity. Only after meeting a Gnani the time for moksha is established.

So a guru is essential in the path to liberation?

Yes. Those who say a guru is not necessary for liberation are talking about extinguishing the light. Guru is the Light. But you have to recognise The Guru. If you call darkness light then how will you proceed? All these acharyas are called gurus. Sadguru is one who has acquired Sat. The Sadguru is unaffected regardless of how negatively we behave. A Gnani Purush is a wonder of the world.

How do we recognise a Gnani Purush ?

Request the Gnani by saying , " Sir, please help me in this problem." If he then replies,"Do this or do that", then you have to say, "I have done all this time after time but have not acheived what I want." The real guru and the right guru is the one who gives mukti ( freedom) from this life and all its trappings (sansaar). You may have a lot of the other guru types, but what use are they? If you want to go to the airport you have to make a guru..the one who guides you to the airport.

The Lord said, " I am the disciple of the whole world ". No one can be a jagatguru...guru of the world. Those who claim or allow any such titles are trading in the name of religion. Such declarations indeed are harsh, but are meant to caution you. Truth can only flow from the place where there is no desire. Yes, some good persons do exist amidst all these so called gurus, 2 to 5 out of a hundred. Who can lead the right path ? The one who himself is right. If he has any untruth within him, how can he preach ? The power of speech (vachanbad) only springs forth from the foundation of absolute purity.

All these relative religions...Hinduism, Jainism, Islam, Christianity and the like offer company, and be with you in your life travel (sangaath). In travel if your companion is strong it helps. If the companion is a robber you may get robbed. Companionship is associated with a beginning and an end. What use is the companionship whch does not have a beginning and an end ? The natural process of like minded folks getting together is called companionship(sangaath). Our science, Akram Vignan spans from 0 to 100. It is the companionship that is complete with previous and future companions.

True religion (dharma) is the one which holds you and is your complete companion, stays with you till you reach the other shore. But has such a religion ever expressed ? Yes, for the one who has not found such a religion, all these relative religions are good.

The one who becomes the disciple of the whole world has deserves the title of the guru. Make a disciple if you come to the realization that this person is not your disciple. I have given Gnan to thousands but I do not consider anyone a disciple even for a second. The Lord has said that you may get by with a lot of wrong deeds, but be sure that you make the right guru. The reason you are lost is that for endless lives you have followed wrong gurus. In India, trade occurs in the name of religion and this is not right. Religion should pervade buisness. Buisness has no place in religion. Even if he is not a Gnani, if you feel a sense of peace within when you see him, sit with him. But do not stay near a person trading in the name of religion. If you can not find a pure man then do what Bhima ( one of the cardinal characters in the epic, Mahabharata) did. Bhima could not find anyone he considered worthy of being his guru. So he took a small copper container, painted it and wrote on it " Namo Neminathaya ", and did his darshan (vision of the Lord) thus ! No one is to be blamed for lack of purity. This era (kaal) is such. What can the gurus themselves do? They themselves are trapped in this wierd and strange era.

Never see the faults of the one who you consider as your guru (viradhana). I do not ask you to accept a guru totally (aradhana). It is impossible to do so. Aradhana is a great virtue that leads to total liberation. Your sincerity to your guru regardless of his nature is the key to dissolving your passions. But such sincerity is not possible for folks in this era. The other way to dissolve your passions and eradicate them is through a Gnani Purush.

The Vitarags ( the Enlightened Ones) have asked you to accept wisdom from any source and within any one. Once you have accepted someone as your guru do not engage in any rumours or negative discussions about him even if such rumours leak out later on. If he does anything negative it is his responsibility. So be very careful in accepting a guru in the first place.

Why do I call all these people purva viradhak jeevo ( the ones who have done viradhana in previous lives) ? Only rubbish material has filtered through in this era. Beings in this era ( the fifth one ) are the ones who have not succeded in Satyug, Dwaparyug and Treta Yug because of their previous viradhanas ( negative behaviour twards their gurus ). They bite the hand that feeds them. Sincerity has disappeared this era.

What am I to do if I have accepted some one as my guru without much understanding and later find that he is not a proper guru ?

No one knows how to recognise a guru. There is tendency to accept anyone who is the source of such feelings within (bhaav). The real jeweller who can recognise a diamond is rare and so most end up buying glass. There are people who may be able to examine diamonds but where are the ones who can examine men ? So what ends up happening is that as soon as one develops a feeling(bhaav) towards some one he says, "Sir, from here on you are my Master".

So once I have made someone my guru, do I have to stick to him ?

After becoming a guru, if by force of his unfolding life circumstances (udayakarma) he behaves differently or becomes crazy does it mean that his status of guru has vanished ? His craziness or wierd behaviour is the result of his udayakarma. The Lord has said that the one who understands this acquires the status of aradhana. Do not reject the one you have accepted. Understanding is the key.

What about the axiom that Gnan is not possible without the Guru ?

The guru shows you the path whereas the Gnani Purush gives you the Gnan. Gnani Purush means the One who has nothing further to learn, the One with the Enlightened world view, eternally established in the bliss of the self. The Gnani gives you all, whereas the guru shows you the right way, and if you follow his instructions worldly material happiness in life follows. But even there miseries and pain remain. Suffering is not eradicated. All these folks who are devoted to their gurus enjoy some benifits but suffering lingers on. The Gnani removes all your sufferings...regardless of their source.

The one who bestows samadhi (unperturbed bliss), in all states of aadhi (mental suffering), vyaadhi (physical suffering), and upaadhi (externally induced stresses) is a Gnani.
