This is Ella Florence King's "King Bunch" Page

My grandmother Ella Florence King's family contains some intresiting individuals.

.....This is Mary Hannah King Parsons daughter of George Samuel Matson and Caroline Staats King. Caroline's parents were Elijah Staats and his second wife Ann Evans. Elijah's first wife was Sally Marvin and his third wife was Sally Sarah Burdette. Sara Sally is my 1st cousin five times removed on my Mother's side of the family. George Samuel Matson King's father was Samuel R. King who married Mary C. Riley . GSM King was the Nephew of Francis II King. The article in the Jackson County book has GSM King as the grandson of Francis II King. Mary Hannah is my half 1st cousin three times removed and probably my 3rd cousin three times removed.

I have found Ephraim and Susan remaining eight children and I will have them here shortly. .....If there are any in existence, I would like to have copies of photos of Ella Florence.

Beginning with the first Francis King, six of these generations lived in Stafford County, Virginia. Francis II(1780-1853), who married Mary Richards, came from Stafford County to Jackson County. It would be nice to be able to fill in the empty branches of the family tree that are represented by these eight grandmothers.

The Hughes Family

I believe this to be Susan Hughes Family

Susan Hughes (May 4, 1847-Februarey 2, 1914)+ Ephraim King
Jacob Hughes + Matilda Staats
Jesse Hughes II (1813-) + Susan Mock
Jesse David Hughs (1715-1824) + Grace Tanner
Thomas Hughes (1725-May 4, 1778) + Mary Susanna Baker
William Hughes (1700-1767) + Sudra

To read about the Jesse Hughes the explorer, click on his drawing.
A drawing of Jesse David Hughes from The History of Roane County .....Jesse David Hughes was the famous, or infamous, Indian fighter. Like Lewis Wetzel, Jessie swore vengence upon the Indians after they had murdered his father Thomas in May of 1778. A deadly fighter, Jesse died at Ravenswood, West Virginia.

Our STAATS Line From the Oldest to the Youngest

Peter Staats....1670
John Staats
Abraham Staats + Margaret DeBoise
Abraham Staats + Anna King
Elijah Staats + Sally Marvin + Ann Evans + Sara Sally Burdette
Matilda Staats + Jacob Hughes
Susan Hughes + Ephraim King

.....I believe that Anna King, who married Abraham Staats in Deleware is the daughter of Walter King and Elizabeth Pratt who are listed above in the King section. I also believe that Francis King II, son of Leonard King and husband of Mary Richards, is Anna's Nephew. Francis King II and Anna King's nephew Francis King have the same birthdate and the same birthplace. Francis King came to Jackson County with Abraham and Anna King Staats to become the first of the Ella Florence's line of Kings to come to Jackson County. Many folks have been wondering just who Anna King was. But, given the information about Francis, I think that it is obvious that Anna is the daughter of Walter King and the sister of Leonard. For two Francis King's to have the same birth date and birth place, Delware, is just too much of a conincidence.
