Tarsis
SPACE The storm drops visibility down to your hand in front of your face. The wind has begun to increase its beatings. Rain seems to be coming in at you from all directions. Even the dark and dreary cave looks inviting from the stinging swarm of raindrops.
SPACE As you trudge closer to safety, you see the alien form that caused Tharg’s alarm for what it is: a small elven woman, brandishing a scimitar, facing Gahiji with her back to the cave. She is quickly surrounded by most of the party of survivors. Tharg moves in closer as she parleys with Gahiji.
SPACE Tharg takes a tight grip on his trusty oar. “Gahiji! Where Conner? Have he been got? Me kill creature?”
SPACE Gahiji signals for Tharg to allow him to talk with the woman.
SPACE "My companions and I have been shipwrecked. We need shelter from the storm," Gahiji states.
SPACE "My name is Tarsis," she replies. She lowers her scimitar and looks about at the rest of the faces surrounding her. "I was also on that ship when it sank. I was travelling with a companion, but I fear he didn't survive.”
SPACE She says more, but thunder drowns out the words. She motions you all to follow her as she enters the cavern.
SPACE Conner appears in the cavernous entrance, nursing an apparently fresh bruise on his temple. Rubbing his head, he looks at Tarsis accusingly. “Why you do that?”
SPACE Tarsis smiles and half-laughing apologizes. “You could have been anybody,” she explains. “I had just regained consciousness when you came by…”
SPACE The cave is dark. Some light does filter in through cracks in the ceiling, but the storm’s dark demeanor has dampened the sunlight. The cave is plenty big to fit all of you and the ceiling is about 12 feet high at its center. Sand fills up three-quarters of its depth, the rest is hard-packed coral.
SPACE Some debris lies halfway into the cave, consisting mostly of driftwood, seaweed, small shells, and broken coral.
SPACE There is also a body lying motionless nearby. He is fully clothed and obviously one of the Salty Death’s crew.
SPACE Through the coral cavern’s portal, the occupants look out and await the arrival of Garn, Sable, Grant, and Wyndra. Garn and Grant are carrying Sable’s limp body towards the cave. Wyndra is no where to be seen.
SPACE Conner and Tharg start rolling the two barrels into the cave and Gahiji drags the large chest in as well.
