    Definition and Statement of Purpose

The GeoCities Masonic Web Ring is a ring of Masonic web pages and/or sites located in the virtual community of the Internet. From any page in the ring you can click on the "Next" button to go to the next site. If you do this often enough (and ideally you will), you will eventually be brought back to where you started.

The GeoCities Masonic Web Ring was constructed so that Freemasons, members of affiliated organizations, and non-Masons would be able to view the ever-growing Masonic presence on the Internet with ease. As more sites link to the GeoCities Masonic Web Ring, the virtual Masonic community on the Web will be brought even closer. Whether you are searching for light, have light to impart, or both, the GeoCities Masonic Web Ring offers the Masonic residents of the 'Net and non-Masons alike the opportunity to meet, greet and learn from one another.

    Membership Requirements

In order for your site to be considered for membership in the GeoCities Masonic Web Ring, it must first meet the following criteria:

  • Your site must adhere to the highest Masonic standards for content.

  • Your site must include at least one page containing "Masonic" content ("masonic" in this context shall be defined as "of or pertaining to Freemasonry." E.g. Blue Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star, etc.).

  • Your site must not, either now or in the future, contain any material which could be defined as "Anti-Masonic."

    Submit Your Site

If you believe your site meets the criteria for membership, then you are cordially invited to submit you site for review by clicking here.

Once your site has been submitted, it will be placed in the "queue" for review; however, your site will not be added to the ring until the necessary HTML has been placed on your page containing the Masonic content (if you have more than one page containing Masonic content, then the HTML should be placed on the first page). Once you have added the HTMLfragment, you must notify either the Ring Master or one of the Assistant Ring Masters in order for your site to be reviewed. Two examples of what your Web Ring link may look like are located near the bottom of this page.

Additionally, your place in the Web Ring queue will only be good for 7 days, after which it will expire and your Site ID will become available to other applicants. If you fail to add the necessary HTML to your page within a week after entering the queue, you will need to re-submit your page for consideration and take the necessary action in a more timely fashion.

You will be notified via email when your site has been added to the queue, added to the ring, if you have been denied membership, or if your place in the queue has expired. You can speed up the process by notifying either Ed Childers, Byron Hams, or Led Wright when you have added the necessary HTML to your page.

    A few cautionary words. . .

The Ring Master and Assistant Ring Masters reserve the right to deny and/or revoke membership in the GeoCities Masonic Web Ring without notice to any person or website failing to meet the guidelines outlined under "Membership Requirements," or for any other reason whatsoever.

Neither the Ring Master, Assistant Ring Masters, nor The GeoCities Masonic Web Ring are responsible for the content of websites included in the ring. While every effort will be made to ensure that the content of members' pages consistently adheres to GeoCities' published guidelines and the membership requirements of the ring, in the end each individual member is responsible for the content of his or her web page or site and the consequences of his or her presence on the Internet.
