Marriage

        "Marriage. What does the word mean? To combine, to commit, to align, a ceremony, a joining, a completion.... many things. It would seem that this is a strange topic for those who are not in the marrying mood or mode, but the marriage we speak of is not that kind of marriage. We are speaking of a combination of two, a bringing together, not the common concept of two people who enter a married state.

        For those who are not interested in the ceremony of marriage or perhaps the word makes them uncomfortable, we hasten to explain that it is used in a general sense. A marriage of ideas, of concepts, of companies - there are many ways that the word can be used. To bring two together is a sychronization of energies. How is this applied in daily life? It is a connecting experience of the mind and the spirit. There are many types of personalities, many types and combinations. We talk about those who are outgoing, the extrovert and those who are within themselves, the introvert. We speak of the intellectual, the feeling person, the emotional, and many other descriptive terms of an individual. So many are not aware of their inner life, the spirit within. So many are in their "head" and at the opposite end of the sprectrum there are many who are all emotion. It is like half of a person for there is usually little awareness of the inner spirit unless one is so spiritually inclined that it is commented on.

        There needs to be a marriage of the outer and the inner, the mind and the spirit, as well as the physical and the mental. It is this "marriage" that contributes to a balance, a balance that defines the person as "whole". As with any relationship, one must get to know the other and we are, for the most part, aware of our thoughts and our mental state. There is so much action and activity in the daily life of an individual that the inner world, the inner self is neglected. To advance spiritually, one must have this marriage of the world within and the world in the outer sense. And it is sometimes a long journey of 'knowing' before the marriage can come about - that sensing and awareness that allows for the combination of the two.

        We ask that you give your Self a chance to connect and to get to know the Spirit within. The benefits of this 'relationship', this 'marriage', will bring about a fuller and more complete person as well as allow for growth in knowledge and wisdom."
