"Have you ever been a 'go between?' Have you ever substituted for someone to communicate or to get something done? Perhaps there was hesitancy or a feeling of a lack of knowledge and so you asked someone to speak for you. Or, maybe there was something that required action that made you feel somewhat lacking so you asked someone to pave the way, to either make the action smoother or lay a better framework.
Prayer is a go between. One's thoughts, feelings, and emotions are sent with thankfulness or request for help. It is the thought that links communication with the self and the other. Each person who has a religious or spiritual pattern of communicating sends their thoughts as a go between to the spiritual beyond, to his or her concept of Superior Being. We use these patterns of thought sometimes in a most repetitious way and sometimes with deep feelings. It is the thought, the word, the feeling that is sent outward and inward. Our thoughts are go between links to others. Our feelings are go between energies that link and shorten distance between others, and love is the most important and strongest go between link to all things.
Too often we forget that there is another go between. That is the look or energy that comes from the eyes. We stare at someone and they feel uncomfortable, but we look at someone with compassion and the feeling conveyed is linked and translated almost immediately. The look of love is unmistakable. We can let our eyes send links of attention, respect, sympathy, and deflect those looks that carry negative feelings.
A parent is a link from the child to the world. It is important that this go between responsibility is carried out with opportunities for the child to see through his or her own eyes as well as the parent's eyes. We can use our inner self as links, as a go between, between the inner and outer world and those beyond. The mind is a go between that reaches as far as the skill of the person who uses it. It is a tool that can be developed far beyond the capacities that are known today. It is a go between that is a powerful tool for spiritual and mental development.
We are constantly acting as go betweens in many ways. Some we are aware of and some we are not. How do we recognize this? How do we improve our technicque? By becoming aware of what you link to and how, as well as how those links are received. With practice, you will become a better sender and a better receiver."
