Chessman's Corner
Welcome to the  home page of Chessman.  This is Version 6.8.1  (Last updated June 2, 2008)

In this page and the following pages I want to introduce you to
me, my family, my pets and some of my interests.  I hope that you will check out the various links on this page and the subsequent pages.

I was born on July 6, 1952, a rainy Sunday afternoon, arriving about 3:50   p. m. at the hospital in
Preeceville, Saskatchewan, Canada.  As a result, I am a very proud Canadian.  (The flags are links, too!)  I spent the first six years of my life in the little town of Lintlaw, Saskatchewan before moving to Wadena, Saskatchewan with my family, where I took my elementary and high school education.

I am a retired high school teacher, having completed 30 years at the end of June 2006.  I found teaching to be a very rewarding career.  I have two degrees; Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Administration, all earned at the
University of Regina.  The picture of me is a typical school portrait done in 2005.  I shaved my head to promote cancer research and to honour and support a grade 10 student who had cancer. Now that she is healthy again, I have grown my hair back.  The sunglasses are for a bit of humour.

My interests include
photography, cooking, webpage construction and genealogy.  My leisure time activities include reading, cross country skiing, hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, bicycling and listening to a variety of music.

I chose the
moniker "Chessman" when I first became involved in using the internet and chatting with new found friends.  As you will see from my family tree, it is an appropriate name.
