Marlon was born in Guantanamo, Cuba in 1973. He worked as a car painter in the body shop of his brothers. He didn’t go to school. The first place where he lived when he came to USA was Miami for a month. After that he moved to San Francisco.
He worked at Social Import Warehouse as a furniture mover where he injured his head, leg and his back.
He started at L.E.N. Institute in February 1, 1999 and he said that he learned a lot about computers, filing and a little about bookkeeping. He had never studied these subjects before.
Marlon did his internship at Headlands Mortgage Company where he’s working now. He started working there in July 1999. He is tracking files on the computer and working with the Gallarghir program. He makes $10.00 an hour. After 90 days he will have full benefits. Marlon feels really good in that job because he can practice the skills that he learned at L.E.N. Institute. Also he said that it is a perfect job for him because of his physical condition.
