i saw nin on the 18th of may at the lakeland civic center.
lying in wait under the full scorpio moon,
i am on the floor in the middle of many other anxious bodies.
as the perfect circle perform their last song,
many fools are leaving the floor
in hopes of making that last necessary trip
to somewhere before trent appears.
as they leave, we move closer,
until at last,
we are so close that we are sure we will never leave alive.
anticipation mounting,
every sound from the stage bringing cheers from the audience.
at last the sounds of live performance replace the recorded sounds
everyone cheers and all attention is riveted to the stage.
the music starts and i can feel it in my soul.
every chord vibrates through me until i am sure that the ancestors are here.
i move with the crowd,
they are singing every word from every song,
and i know that trent knows his followers love him.
he is aware of his spell he has placed upon us
as he drags us through 2 hours of his personal hell
that is our music,
our passion.
we have no choice but to move with the waves
that are created by the writhing, jumping, sweating bodies.
{the floor is really slippery here, if i fall, i will be trampled by the
crowd}
i was so moved by his music that i could hardly walk out of there,
my legs not really my legs anymore.... |
