A good point to remember is that we need to sense what we are feeling in the dream and following the dream, what is the theme?
Some symbols are:
Animals: Our four footed and feathered friends are convient stero-types for our own traits, both negative and positive. An animal you see in your dreams almost always refers to a trait in you, generally a negative trait because it is easier to see a negative in an animal than in ourselves.e.g. A lady who was sleeping later and later, dreamed she was a big brown cow laizly chewing her cud in bed. They don't have to be negative, however, if the dream has a negative picture, it is most likely depicting a negative trait in us, not about the animal itself, but about us.
Cars and vehicles: in a dream refer to your body (the vehicle with which you travel through life). Or they may indicate the direction your life is going and how you are handeling it. Remember: the theme of the dream has to do with us, our life, not others, so I need to always ask, what do "trains" symbolize for me, and how does it relate to my life?
Children: Symbol of something new and joyful, so,,a new project, a new phase in life, a new activity, or open, innocent, parts of self.
Cloths: are something you change with your moods, a symbol for our attitudes, and moods, also masks, hide the real us, a transformation.

Faces and features: Parts of the body are often connected to their actual function,,like a head larger than normal -- perhaps indicating a swollen head. Another example might be enlarged teeth, meaning watching the words coming out of your mouth. Hair that is stiff = rigid thinking, the head, the hair and the scalp are good symbols for the state of mind and attitudes.
Houses, buildings, and rooms: Point out the area of life that the dream is bringing to our attention. An office setting can literally refer to some situation at work, or career goals, or skills and attitudes.
A kitchen may refer to food habits or what is "cooking" in one's life.
Money and jewels: Are often a way of asking us to think about what you value or to examine your attitude toward material possessions.
Someone who dreamed of stacking dollar bills high on the shelf yet felt the money was unsafe there recognized a parallel in a life situation where keeping values high and standards high in order to stay secure with one's own integrity made sense.
By the same token, the common dream of a winning lottery ticket usually refers to success in a goal or some area of lift rather than to cash that will come to you for no reason.
Dreams of people: Is another way your psyche mirrors aspects or traits of yourself. Generally, they are traits or attitudes that we need to develop, or if negative, ones we need to let go of.
