Location:

West Seneca borders the City of Buffalo to the South East.

History:

In the late 1790's,  2.6 million acres of land of what is now known as the Town of West Seneca, was purchased by the Seneca Indians and created the Buffalo Creek Indian Reservation.  In 1835, the Indians were persuaded to sell this reservation.  Afterwards, the "Ebenezers" a German Lutheran group who believed in a communal life, settled in the area and formed four hamlets.  The hamlets were: Middle Ebenezer, Upper Ebenezer, Lower Ebenezer, and New Ebenezer.  The Ebenezer community was growing in size so they decided to move in the 1840's to Amana, Iowa, where they were able to purchased much more land than they had here in Western New York. In 1852, the Town of West Seneca was formerly incorporated by the New York State Legislature.

Future:

Efforts continue to make the Town of West Seneca the best it can be with developments in open parks and the preservation of historical locations for us and families to come, as well as developing a 400 acre industrial park to take advantage of the road, rail, and air transportation close to this location, the educated and skilled work force educated at a number of area colleges and universities, a lower cost of living than many other areas of the country, and outstanding public services available to new companies and their employees.

West Seneca is honored to have such a proud past and through all the hard work and efforts by the Town of West  Seneca, the West Seneca Development Corporation, all other community development organizations, and especially the citizens of this community, the future for the Town of West Seneca truly is unlimited.
