WARRENNES
(1) Rudolf I de Warrenne, born 998, died 1059. Married Beatrice de Vascoeuil and had son Rudolf II.

(2) William de Warrenne, 1st Earl of Surrey. Born 1034, died June 24th, 1089. Son of Rudolf II and Emma de Warrenne. Married
Gundred and had son William.

(3) William II de Warrenne, 2nd Earl of Surrey. Born 1070, died May 11th, 1138. Son of William and Gundred de Warrenne. Married Elizabeth Isabelle
de Crepi and had daughter Adelaide and son William. He was a contestant for the hand of Edith of Scotland, who instead married Henry I of England. This marriage may have been the cause of his hatred of Henry. In 1101 he shared in inviting Robert, Duke of Normandy, to invade England, and because of this act King Henry deprived him of his estates. Later, Henry restored William's former position, and from that time on William was a loyal and faithful supporter. Having won the affections of Isabelle Elizabeth de Crepi, the wife of the Earl of Leicester, he abducted her (not entirely agaisnt her will, it seems) which upset her husband so much it sent him to an early grave.

(4) William III de Warrenne, Earl of Surrey, born 1119. Died 1148 in the Crusades. Son of William and Isabella. He married Ela of Alcenon, and had daughter and heir Isabella.

(5) Isabella de Warrenne, Countess of Surrey & heir of her father. She married Hamelin
Plantagenet (bastard son of Geoffrey, Count of Anjou) and had son William and daughter Lorette (who associated with her cousin John, King of England).

(6) William IV de Warrenne, Earl of Surrey, died May 27th, 1240. Son of Hamelin and Isabella. He married Matilda Marshall (born 1190, died March 27th, 1248) and had son John. It may be confusing that William took his mother's last name instead of his father's; the reason being that his father was a somewhat obscure illegitimate half-brother of the King, while his mother was one of the wealthiest heiresses of her day.

(7) John de Warrenne, Earl of Surrey, born 1241. Died 1304. Son of William and Matilda. He married Alice
de Lusignan (daughter of Hugh IX and Isabella d'Angouleme) and had son William.

(8) William V de Warrenne, Earl of Surrey, born January 15th, 1256. Died December 15th, 1286. Son of John and Alice. He married Joan de Vere and had daughter Alice.

(9) Alice de Warrenne, born about 1300, died May 1338. Daughter of William and Joan. She married Edmund Fitzalan.
